Oscar 2012: Fashion Recap

In keeping up with the hard times, celebrities went for simplicity at this year’s 84thOscar Academy Awards. No over the top blings and jewelries. No exaggerated gowns. Everything was simple and clean. Nudes, whites and creams were the favorite colors. Some went for bold colors too. Enough said. In case you missed it, we'll give you a recap on Who's wearing What at the Oscars 2012. And you decide who wore it best. First on our list is Octavia Spencer. Not only she won the Best Supporting Actress, but also won our approval for this white beaded silk and tulle Tadashi Shoji gown, paired with Jimmy Choo heels. The gown looks vintage and fits perfectly to her body. Octavia just proves that you don't need to be a size zero to look like a queen! Check out Emma Stone! They may say she grabbed this from Nicole Kidman's look book, but whatever! She's definitely rockin' in her floor-length Giambattista Valli couture halter gown with that giant red neck bow, keeping her look simple and classy. The whole ensemble was paired with Brian Atwood heels and Louis Vuitton clutch and jewelry. Keep it up Emma! George Clooney may not hope for that trophy anymore when she's got the statuesque Stacy Keibler. Stacy flashed us all with her dynasty-inspired liquid gold Marchesa gown matched with a clutch and side-swept do. The single-strap gown was a perfect example of adding a detail of off-shoulder sleeve, almost like a sash. Clooney's latest eye candy surely knows how to look like a million bucks! Hollywood hottie Penelope Cruz may not impressed us as much as other stars did, but she surely sizzled in this custom-made purple strapless Giorgio Armani gown with accessories by Chopard. Black Swan star Natalie Portman looked stunning in her strapless Dior haute couture gown. The red polka dot rare vintage 1954 gown was perfected with a black clutch, V-shaped collar necklace and drop earrings from Harry Winston Jewels. Michelle Williams was just breathtaking in her reddish peplum Louis Vuitton frock. She rocked the bold gown with sans earrings and diamond necklace, carrying a Bottega Venetta pink croc clutch and sported Louboutin's. She perfected the whole ensemble with a natural makeup that made us focus more on this lovely dress. Sandra Bullock was definitely a standout in her movie 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' but we're not sure on the red carpet this time. Sandra donned a vintage-looking Marchesa dress paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Too bad that sexy back could not save this two-toned number. Cameron Diaz rocked the red carpet in her Gucci's off-white strapless gown. The tube-top gown showed off her perfectly toned arms. The whole nude ensemble was perfected by a natural makeup and a cute do. Gwyneth Paltrow was a stunner in her ivory Tom Ford caped gown. She totally pulled off this out-of-the-box look that made her voted as one of the best dressed of the night. She was flawless in her minimal hair and makeup. Way to go Gwyneth! Whose ex wouldn't gag on this unbelievable Zuhair Murad gown with a plunging neckline? Jennifer Lopez brought the perfect mix of sexy and classy in this silk-striped dress with cut out sleeves and her signature hairdo. The Idol judge just shimmer in her gown, flaunting her perfect figure. Whether she took home that trophy or not, Meryl Streep was sure she was going to be the shiniest star on the red carpet. The Iron Lady was shimmering in gold in her floor-sweeping wraparound Lanvin frock. Angelina Jolie arrived fashionably late at the red carpet in a stunning velvet Atelier Versace gown. We can wait forever for this Hollywood hottie! Angie definitely stole the night in her dramatic vamp black dress with sky-high slit. There's nothing we don't love about the flawless and classy look paired with a natural hair and makeup. As usual, Brad you look good on your Tom Ford suit.
