Lisa Blue at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013

The Lisa Blue collection amazed fans as the opening show of MBFWS. The inspiration for the new collection was “the year of the dragon”. The Australian native impressed viewers, not only by her amazing designs but also through her philanthropy. The Lisa Blue brand donates 25% of its profits to the preservation of dolphins and whales. The collection included four stories: Enchantress, Flamingo, Cover Girl and Dragon. Enchantress graced the runway with goddess-like headpieces, winged shoulders and shades of ocean blue, white and gold. Bikinis were designed with interesting triple-strap sides, provocative cutouts and high-waisted bottoms. The Flamingo portion of the presentation featured Dancing with the Stars member, Karina Smirnoff. She added excitement and Latin flare, adorned in bright colors, sexy ruffles and graphic floral details. Other accents included black lace, mock denim and red-checkered cowgirl separates. Cover girl paid homage to classic pin-up style silhouettes, complete with vintage photo prints, pops of bright red and pink, and beehive hairstyles. Belted suits decked out in nautical stripes were accessorized with layers of jewels and lacquered bangles. Lastly, the Dragon story combined sky-high headdresses, Asian prints and abstract Chinese characters. Two-toned shades of turquoise and magenta covered one-piece suits and triple-stringed bikini bottoms. Other swimwear ensembles were lingerie inspired with beaded embellishments, trimmed bodices and sexy straps.
