Fashion One presents: Chanel Cruise 2013 Collection

The Chanel Cruise 2013 collection included enough extravagance and excess that even Marie Antoinette would approve of. It’s no surprise that the fashion house was inspired by the French aristocracy of the 18th century. Karl Lagerfeld, who served as photographer and creative director for the campaign, captured models, Saskia de Brauw and Cara Delevingne, lounging on lavish bedding, sporting sky-high scarf bonnets, layers of lace and chiffon, and decorated in strings of pearls. Ruffles covered everything in these pictorials, including hip-enhancing skirts, collars and blouse fronts, or the hems of ¾ length sleeves. Signature Chanel wool fabrics made their way into cropped jackets and coats, designed in cool pastel hues. The theme of luxury didn’t stop at apparel; the girls also donned thick metal cuffs, embellished headpieces, and stunning silver booties.
