Giuliana Rancic Says Zendaya’s Hair Smells Like ‘Weed’, Tries to Take it Back

Amidst all the glitz and glamour of the Academy Awards, Giuliana Rancic called out Zendaya’s red carpet hairstyle on national television for all of the world to see. One of four hosts on the hit TV series Fashion Police, Giuliana nonchalantly commented on the 18-year-old’s appearance, “I feel that she smells like patchouli oil... or weed. Yeah, maybe weed.”

Zendaya, who landed on countless best dressed lists for her gorgeous white gown and her beautifully flowing dreadlocks, criticized Giuliana’s remarks calling them, “ignorant slurs.” Guiliana’s co-host Kelly Osbourne, who is also a friend of Zendaya’s, also publicly criticized the flippant remarks. Kelly is threatening to leave the show for good if the issue doesn’t get resolved.

It appears that Guiliana can’t endure anymore public criticism as the host has released a public apology to Zendaya and anyone that she may have offended. Giuliana opened her apology by saying, “I'd really like to address something that is weighing very heavy on my heart,” and went on to say, “I just want everyone to know I didn't intend to hurt anybody. But I've learned it is not my intent that matters; it's the result. And the result is that people are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not OK.”

Zendaya and Kelly Osbourne have yet to respond to Guiliana’s public apology.
