Broadway and Red Carpets from London to Los Angeles

Hugh Jackman sported a rugged, bearded look as host of the 2014 Tony Awards in New York City—perhaps trying to win over the theater crowd by channeling a little Jean Valjean. Stars dressed to impress on this glamorous NYC evening, with celebrities in attendance including Daniel Radcliffe, Lucy Liu, Bryan Cranston, Sarah Greene, Kevin Bacon and Samuel L. Jackson among many, many more. The ubiquitous Neil Patrick Harris and dominating Bryan Cranston both walked away with awards, and both sat down for exclusive interviews with Fashion One. Cranston mused on the trajectory of his career from Breaking Bad to Broadway, saying amicably, “It’s a little bit as if I’m in some kind of cosmic haze here.”

2014 Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, hunky True Blood werewolf Joe Manganiello and Blood co-star Evan Rachel Wood were guests of honor at the Maui Film Festival. Manganiello discussed his new self-funded documentary about male strippers, La Bare, while Nyong’o revealed details about her upcoming role in the newest instalment of the Stars Wars franchise. Wood also spoke to Fashion One about her new post-apocalyptic survival thriller film, in which she will play the sister of Academy Award-nominated actress Ellen Page of Juno, X-Men and Inception fame.

In London, Angelina Jolie spoke at the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, an event she co-chaired along with U.K. Foreign Secretary William Hague. The actress and Special Envoy for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees took the stage alongside Hague and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, declaring, “War zone rape is not simply a women’s issue. It is not a humanitarian issue. It goes to the heart of international peace and security.”

First presented in 1977, the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards brought a bright array of stars to the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City, California, including Scandal’s Kerry Washington, Frozen director Jennifer Lee, former Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria and X-Men actress Rose Byrne, who opined that women are underrepresented in the acting business—particularly in the director’s chair, as the night’s Crystal Award winner, Cate Blanchett, agreed.

In Los Angeles, Transformers actor Josh Duhamel hosted the amfAR Inspiration Gala in support of the Foundation for AIDS Research. “I truly believe that in our lifetimes they’re going to find a cure for this,” Duhamel told Fashion One.

Other sightings included the U.K.’s Prince William, Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen, Robert Pattinson of The Rover, and the cast of Orange is the New Black, who descended on New York to promote the second season of the hit prison comedy-drama on Netflix.
