December 2nd 2014 will see both Chanel’s annual Métiers d’Art runway and the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Chanel will showcase the craftsmanship of its specialist divisions, including feather maestro Lemarié and cashmere producer Barrie, while for the first time ever Victoria’s Secret will present its lingerie on a runway outside America.

H&M have collaborated with Unicef to create new line called “All for Children” in support of children worldwide living in poverty, using active-wear inspired looks to allow children to dress up in a “fantasy world with a contemporary edge”. Also launching new lines is Gwyneth Paltrow, who is set to add basic wardrobe staples, beauty and home products to her Goop brand. News of these future collections came alongside the announcement of Lisa Gersh as new Goop CEO.

It’s been a good week for things Scottish: 300 star Gerard Butler was named new “Man of Today” for Hugo Boss scent Bottled and described his love for the “strong and unmistakably masculine, but also versatile” fragrance. David Beckham has also become the face of a cologne bottle or, rather, what looks like one. In collaboration with Idol franchise creator Simon Fuller and British liquor company Diageo, David Beckham has launched a new whisky: cultivated in Scotland’s oldest grain whisky distillery and designed to resemble a cologne bottle.

Less successful, Italian footwear exports to Eastern Europe have significantly decreased in the past year according to Istat data. The approximate 20% drop is thought to be connected to uncertainties associated with the conflict in Ukraine.
