ANTONIO MARRAS Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2015

Antonio Marras presented a playful Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Milan Fashion Week. The collection was Mediterranean-inspired, with plenty of bright stripes and vintage floral prints to tempt fashion fans.

Makeup artist Tom Pecheux told Fashion One about the looks he was preparing for the models. “Well, the makeup is very playful,” he said. “We started with a very fresh face, using a bit of foundation, concealer, rosy cheeks and peachy lipstick just to make the skin and the face very charming and very lovely. After that came the playful element, when we added colored dots on the temples that added color and innocence—very naive and very young.”

Commenting on the use of makeup, he declared, “In fashion, it looks like a lot of people are going for natural makeup. But we all know that women love to wear makeup, so I don’t know where the conflict is going to be. Makeup artists love to play with makeup as well, so it’s about finding the right balance. But the good thing is that fashion is for everyone, and every designer has something to say, and there are many trends. So there is a lot of natural—because in the summer, you many not want to wear a lot of makeup, but you do want to have beautiful skin. Life is sometimes very tough, so you want to play—and that can mean you want to play with color, perhaps with a lipstick or an eye shadow.”

“I think Milan is having a great week. I saw a lot of beautiful collections and I’m very happy,” he added enthusiastically.

Ukrainian model Irina Kravchenko opened the show, while the closing outfit was worn by Antonia Wesseloh of Germany.
