Hollywood Women, Pretty in Pink and Benedict Cumberbatch

ELLE’s Women In Hollywood ceremony brought the A-listers out to the Four Seasons hotel. Scandal’s Kerry Washington wowed photographers as she posed on the red carpet, and Tina Fey, Jennifer Garner and Elizabeth Banks were among the honorees. Renée Zellweger made a rare public appearance at the event, causing a storm of speculation about her new and almost unrecognizable look.

Julia Roberts was honored for her work in ensuring school safety for LGBT youths at the 10th Annual GLSEN Respect Awards. “School is hard enough for teenagers, and these amazing people are fielding these issues by the hour at school,” Roberts said. “They have enough on their plate. They shouldn’t have to be dealing with this.” Dancer Derek Hough, actress Jessica Capshaw and singer-actress Rose McGowan were among the attendees at the Beverley Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The 10th Annual Pink Party was hosted by Jennifer Garner and Rachel Zoe, who were both appropriately pretty in pink. Aiming to raise money for the Women’s Cancer Program, celebrities attending the festivities included television actresses Marcia Cross, Shay Mitchell and Lisa Rinna.

The fashion world mourned the passing of beloved designer Oscar de la Renta. The artist dressed both Hollywood starlets and royalty, and his work was showcased in the popular TV series Sex and the City as one of Sarah Jessica Parker’s most iconic outfits. De la Renta also recently designed Amal Alamuddin’s dress for her wedding to George Clooney.

In London, female fans worked themselves into a frenzy during the unveiling of the most recent addition to Madame Tussauds wax museum. British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, whose career has skyrocketed after his popular portrayal of Sherlock Holmes on the drama series Sherlock, is the latest star to be immortalized in wax.
