Designer Collaborations on the High Street & Harrods Go Digital



Harrods Digital Style Summit
Famous upmarket London department store Harrods brought together eight of the world’s most influential fashion bloggers for their inaugural “Digital Style Summit,” which saw a collection of female bloggers flown to London from around the globe. The bloggers were let loose onto the floor of the department store and created top five lists of their pick of seasons, as well as selecting outfits for a special group photo shoot.

Profits at Christian Dior Couture
French luxury goods house Christian Dior has posted positive profit figures, reporting revenues amounting to 1.15 billion euros in the first nine months of the year—an increase of 14% compared to 981 million euros in the first nine months of the previous year. The positive performance was due to the brand’s overall retail sales, with strong growth from the men’s wear collection designed by Kris Van Assche and the women’s wear line with its newly appointed head designer Raf Simons. Dior’s CEO Sidney Toledano observed that while many luxury brands had suffered in the global economic upheavals of recent years, this is not the case with Dior and he expects continual growth into the the future.

Alexander Wang x H&M
American fashion designer Alexander Wang, famed for his urban sensibility and sharp sense of tailoring, has taken to social network platform Instagram to announce the impending launch of his collaboration with Swedish high street retail colossus H&M which will include a collection of men's and women's clothing, as well as his noted accessories. The young designer follows in the wake of some of the industry’s most revered figures, including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Rei Kawakubo and Viktor & Rolf in collaborating with the high street brand.
