Biggest Fashion Buzzes of 2014



We take a look back at the biggest fashion buzz stories of 2014. A year in which historic french fashion house Lanvin celebrated it’s 125th anniversary while Diane von Fürstenberg enjoyed the continued success of her iconic wrap dress, still going strong after 40 years.

There were great fashion collaborations from French actress Clémence Poésy’s and Antony Vaccarello for Versus as well as the highly popular collection by Alexander Wang for H&M. The designer expressed his excitement to work with the brand and explains how he took a different approach, through the concept of active performance wear to create the sophisticated and stylish sportswear.

2014 saw a collaboration of “l’enfants terribles” of the pop and fashion world with Miley Cyrus creating her colourful and gaudy jewelry creations for Jeremy Scott while Scott himself became the much talked about artistic designer of Moschino. His playful approach continues to inject energy into the fashion world and celebrate symbols of the 21st century. He stated “fashion is just clothes” and he hopes to bring some happiness and joy through his designs.

John Galliano returned to the scene joining Maison Martin Margiela as creative director.

Off the catwalk, the director of the Parisian Palais Galliera museum, Olivier Saillard, provided a touching and fascinating showcase with his “models never talk” presentation featuring 7 former models telling their sincere and sometimes funny stories of working in the european fashion capital. The city also enjoyed the opening of the new Louis Vuitton Foundation building designed by prestigious architect Frank Gehry.
