No sports event comes with as much fanfare and celebration as American football's Super Bowl. A host of star studded parties led up to the main event. Snoop Dogg wowed audiences by playing some of his classic tracks including “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, “Gin & Juice” and “The Next Episode”. One of the hottest tickets in town was super-star Rihanna’s private pre-super bowl party with executives and socialites alike jostling to get on the intimate guest list. Rihanna was joined by Kanye West for a surprise appearance with the two performing a host of tracks together before Rihanna closed out the night.

Art Directors Guild Awards

The Art Directors Guild held its 19th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards Saturday at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Oscar winner Birdman, Wes Anderson's stylized The Grand Budapest Hotel and comic book tale Guardians of the Galaxy took the top honors of the night. The red carpet saw of host of glitterati in attendance, including Eddie Redmayne, whose portrayal of scientist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything earned him an Oscar. His co-star, actress Felicity Jones, dazzled in a floor length silk chiffon floral printed dress by Erdem.

Jupiter Ascending Premiere

The Wachowski brothers who are famed as much for their box office failures of recent years as much as for the original Matrix film, premiered their new science fiction blockbuster Jupiter Ascending at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. The entire cast was in attendance including actress Mila Kunis, who looked stunning in a classy black dress, alongside her dapper co-stars, Oscar winning Eddie Redmayne and American heart-throb Channing Tatum.
