Lanvin’s Show Wows the Crowd with Dramatic Moroccan Charm and Exquisite Embellishments

Fashion One introduces you to the stunning ready-to-wear presentation from Lanvin for autumn/winter 2015 at Paris Fashion Week. Take a look at the VIP guests arriving for the show held at the Palais Galliera where celebrities including Kanye West and Kim Kardashian as well as Vogue editor Anna Wintour and iconic designer Donna Karan.

We speak to designer Alber Elbaz who was inspired by the roots of Lanvin and took us on an imaginary magical journey to Morocco. He tells us that he doesn't want to erase history but rather to change it and create something relevant for the woman of today, a kind of nomadic woman. He looked at traditional Moroccan garments, kaftans, uniforms and fabrics, reworking them into wearable and desirable pieces.

The collection showed a rich dark palette of black, magenta and gold and included exquisite intarsia jackets, long coats and dresses with beautiful tassel details, intricate beading and embellishment in goat hair, fur and leather. Accessories were another key point from luxe necklaces and harness belts to long brimmed hats mixing with fringed gloves and riding boots. The mishmash of fabrics and techniques were pulled together with phenomenal styling and the atmosphere of the grand venue further added to the dramatic impact of the garments.

Designer Donna Karan expressed her admiration for the collection, and described Elbaz as an artist, designer and creator, praising his self expression and passion.
