The stellar career ascent of actor Eddie Redmayne shows no sign of losing velocity as the actor won the Best Actor prize at the prestigious Bafta Film Awards in London for his role as Professor Hawking in the acclaimed biopic, The Theory of Everything. The film was also named Outstanding British Film of the Year and picked up another award for Best Adapted Screenplay. It a successful night for American art house director Richard Linklater who nabbed the Best Director prize for his touching coming of age drama Boyhood.

Hasty Pudding’s Man of the Year

The Hasty Pudding Theatrical Society at Harvard University annually bestows an award to a performer who has made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment”. This year the award went to American actor Chris Pratt. The actor, most famous for playing Andy Dwyer on the Parks and Recreation sitcom, is on a career high with a starring role in Guardians of the Galaxy as well as his upcoming role in the highly anticipated reboot of the Jurassic Park series with Jurassic World set to be released in June.

Kevin Costner’s Premier

American actor Kevin Costner famous for his performances in Dances with Wolves, The Bodyguard and Waterworld, attended, with his family in tow, the world premiere of his new film McFarland USA at the 30th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival at Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California. The film, inspired by true events, tells the tale of Jim White, the most successful high school cross country coach in America.
